Fran vs. Slam on gender ease-a-date-ability!

Well IT'S TIME, Emerald City Comic Con is THIS Thursday through Sunday! I am still taking commission requests beforehand, though I won't be working on them till the show. So if you'd like one, send me an email (lipstickisspress@gmail.com) and let me know what you want, pencil or ink, and it'll be at the top of my pile while I'm at the show! (You can find commission prices/examples here!) OR you can let me know at the show and I'll let you know my availability! This year I'm a Guest (wee!) sitting alongside an all-star line-up in Artist Alley at Table I-1

Here are some of the new things I'll have with me - a brand new romance mini-comic called Martial Outlet (available only as a PDF at the moment, but will be in print and on Comixology soon!) and Stucky and Buffy prints.

Has Slam not realized this by now?

Updated every Tuesday & Thursday!

Ugh, so many Werewolf Rules, am I right? Oh hey the great Comics Verse interviewed me at NYCC last year, and just posted the video - if you want to see me talk about my weirdest commission request ever, here's your chance!

There’s something both earthy and retro about Monica Gallagher’s style — which is perfectly in keeping with the nature of her brazenly femme heroine, Bonnie N. Collide.

Maybe Herb could start up a business of tearaway pants just for strippers and also werewolves? Or what was it they wore in What We Do In The Shadows, cargo pants? Not very chic. That's it, The Dapper Werewolf, a wardrobe shop for werewolves who want to look classy while wearing indestructible, flexible clothing. Someone take this idea and run with it!

What would you all rather be - wolf or human or hybrid? I think I'd choose weekdays as a human, weekends as a wolf. That'd be awful if you were mostly human but like, one foot was a wolf paw. Almost as bad as being Mr. HeavyFoot.

Only a few more weeks and I'll be at Emerald City Comic Con! One of my all-time favorite shows in one of my all-time favorite places (rain + rolling hills + coffee galore, yes please). This year I'm a Guest (wee!) sitting alongside an all-star line-up in Artist Alley at Table I-1. I'm not taking commissions before the show, but darn tootin' I'll be taking them AT the show, so feel free to come by and request away! I've added a LOT of shows this year (you can check out my About page to see a complete listing) so I hope at some point to see all of you face to face!

It may be Valentine's Day today, but yesterday was GALENTINE'S DAY, so I made this for y'all:

So in just a few weeks (ACK!) I'll be a guest at this year's Emerald City Comic Con! One of my fave places and cons ever, and my first time being a guest! I'll be in a row surrounded by stellar comickers like Jen Bartel, Kevin Wada, Babs Tarr - just a WEEEE bit intimidating. But if you're in the Seattle scene the first weekend in March, come visit!

I think we should all use game names as exclamations when we've discovered something. Boggle! Rubbick's Cube! Chutes & Ladders!

Gotta love them nerds who work out! Also, feel free to share any/all of your Dating Formulas in the comments, I find them INTRIGUING.

So I have some big news from Monica Work Land ... which is that after 15 years of having a day job, I will be venturing whole hog into the full-time freelance world! I've been wanting to make this leap for a looooong time (probably for most, if not ALL of those 15 years) but never really worked it out. Now I've got some gigs coming up (more on that when I can share - which will actually be soon!) that will make that possible, and though it's still scary and intimidating I'm super thrilled to be attempting to do what I love full time (more detailed musings on that can be found on my Patreon). I have a feeling I'll be a LOT more vocal (*ahem* desperate) in the future when I mention sales and new book releases and commission specials n' things. Just wanted to give all of you a heartfelt THANK YOU for reading my comics and supporting me along the way - I couldn't do it without m' lovely readers! (and I've already had a few questions about Bonnie, and don't worry, she and the strip will continue!)

I think Mimi's had enough experience with *that* kind of guy, right?

This past weekend I offered to do/send drawings to anyone who donated $50 to the ACLU and got a ton of people! Which is super awesome and the generosity going on right now is heartwarming. I posted one on my Instagrams, and I'll be posting the rest on my Patreon, if you wanna check them out!

It's always good when someone keeps you updated on their Current Vomit Status. OMG guys what's gonna happen to Stuart?? Every now and then I like to pretend I'm one of you cool kids reading the comic and have no idea what's coming up. :) This is the last strip of the year, so I just want to wish all of you and yours a very happy end o' 2016 and looking forward to a kick-ass 2017. There will be a lot more Bonnie goodness ahead, and as always I love hearing any of your comments and feedbacks and arguing over who the best character is (duh, it's Herb - oh wait I'm not s'posed to pick favorites!). Oh and if any of you prefer to read Bonnie a la Comixology, Issue #8 is now up there for sale!

LOVE YOU GUYS and thanks for reading!
