Hey if any of y'all read (or wanna read) my OTHER webcomic about Greek Gods messing in the lives of college kids, I announced yesterday that the next chapter starts up June 4th! In the meantime I'll be posting fun things leading up to it, some come on over there and hang out to see what's happening.
I have to admit, swigging my wine and making a dramatic announcement is something I'm ALWAYS tempted to do at a dinner party.

If you've guessed that the Bonnie comics will be appearing a wee bit off schedule this week because I'm still recovering from ECCC, you are correct! Well, that and my plane got in 5 1/2 hours later than it was supposed to yesterday, plus I didn't get my luggage until about 15 minutes ago and had to go the WHOLE DAY without mascara. The horrors! (of course, I still had my lipstick - my lipstick is my better half) Anyhoo, in the meantime, here's a sketch I did of Bonnie for my dear friend Andy Perez!

Since my flight got in late last night due to East Coast Snow Shenanigans (including finding my car doors frozen shut WHO DOES THAT??), I hope you will all forgive me for instead posting this sketch of Cheryl as a Super Villain, which I drew on the plane. In between a Bloody Mary and a cranky old man sitting next to me.

Calling all you peeps in Texas! Staple! is this weekend, and if you don't know what it is, it's a damn fine, intimate, super creative fun gathering of comics creators in Austin! I'll be there, and I'll be on a panel, and you should come visit!

Not trying to get TOO emo with Fran here, but when you work really hard to be part of something as awesome as derby, sometimes watching your friends and peers get through the goal hoops before you do can be a bit heartbreaking. A lot of people focus on all the glitz and glamour of derby, which is totally cool, but it also requires a lot of difficult work at something you may or may not be good at! The point is (it was for me at least) that as fun and exciting as it is you still really EARN your spot on a league and on a team!
Anyway, that's just my little derby PSA for the day. ;)
